WASHINGTON — Wal-mart is launching an online campaign to help shoppers find the perfect gift for the holiday season.
The company is rolling out the first wave of its new LED lights that it hopes will be on sale in the first quarter of next year, a Wal-marts spokesperson said.
The first wave, including the new “light up” model, will cost $14.99.
The $14-a-light-up LED lights will be available at Wal-Marts retail locations nationwide and at WalMart’s online store.
The campaign is aimed at promoting the company’s commitment to sustainability and to light up its stores.
The lights will replace existing white and red lights on the shelves of many stores, but will feature a green LED that can be used in conjunction with other lights to create a brighter and more vibrant light, according to Wal- mart.
The LED lights are made by LED-based lights company LED Lighting, and will be offered in two colors: blue and green.
The company says the light-up model is brighter and better for indoor and outdoor use.
